In January 2016 Amir Dan Rubin joined the nation’s leading health benefits and services organization, UnitedHealth Group and its Optum organization, as Executive Vice President. In his role he looks to join an organization with $130 billion in annual revenue and 200,000 employees helping people live healthier lives and helping to make the health system work better for everyone.

Previously, Amir served as President and CEO of Stanford Health Care, a $4 billion academic health system affiliated with Stanford University in California. Stanford Health Care seeks to serve humanity through science and compassion, one patient at a time, through its commitment to care, educate, and discover. At Stanford Health Care, Amir worked with a broad team to raise patient experience scores to the highest levels in the nation, advance quality and clinical innovation, grow a regional network of inpatient and outpatient settings, launch health plan offerings, advance digital health, and deploy lean management approaches.

Prior to Stanford, Amir served as Chief Operating Officer for the UCLA Health System in Los Angeles, where he helped significantly advance quality, service, operations and growth across an academic health system. Prior to UCLA, Amir served as Chief Operating Officer for Stony Brook University Hospital in New York, as Assistant Vice President of Operations for Memorial Hermann Hospital in Texas, and as Director of Business Development for Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Texas. Amir also previously worked as a health care management consultant with APM in San Francisco, serving leading health plans and delivery systems.

In 2014, Amir was recognized with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Northern California amongst Large Companies. Amir has served on an array of boards and advisory boards, including the California Hospital Association, the American Association of Medical College’s (AAMC’s) Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH), the National Center for Healthcare Leadership, the Joint Commission’s Leadership Advisory Council, and several commercial boards. Amir has been a frequent guest lecturer and presenter on strategy, lean operations, and customer service.

Bert Zimmerli is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Intermountain Healthcare. He is responsible for the direction and oversight of all Intermountain Healthcare financial operations. He also oversees Intermountain’s insurance/health plans operations, SelectHealth, as well as Intermountain’s Information Systems operations. Bert chairs the Board of Directors of Amerinet, Inc., the fifth largest Group Purchasing Organization in the country. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and on the Governing Boards of SelectHealth and the Intermountain Healthcare Foundation.
Prior to joining Intermountain Healthcare in 2003, Bert was the Executive Vice President and CFO of the Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, he served in numerous capacities with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, including Senior Vice President, CFO, and as president of several of its subsidiaries. He also was a Partner in Ernst & Young’s Houston office, where he spent 16 years, specializing in healthcare.

Mr. Levin has concentrated his practice on complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, buyouts, private equity and venture capital investing, formation of private equity funds, debt and equity restructurings and workouts, and executive compensation, with emphasis on tax, corporate, SEC, and structuring aspects, handling transactions which range in size from several million dollars to more than $7 billion.

Mr. Levin has been recognized in the areas of Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law, Corporate M&A and Securities Law, Tax Law, Venture Capital Law, Corporate Law, and Corporate Governance and Compliance Law.

Handled many private equity, venture capital, LBO, and fund formation matters for Madison Dearborn Partners, GTCR, Willis Stein Partners, First Chicago, Bank of America, Summit Partners, and others. Handled many mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions involving Concord EFS, Gaylord Container, BWAY, Crate & Barrel, Rand McNally, Dayton P&L, Exide, and others.

Pat Basu is a business leader who has served as a senior executive in the corporate, government, private equity and clinical sectors. A former Stanford Physician and White House Advisor, Pat most recently served as Senior Vice President for Optum and United Health Group, a Fortune 10 company and leading provider of health care and health insurance. Pat was responsible for a $9 billion P&L with management spanning 9,000 team-members, regional executives, physicians and nurses. As part of his responsibility, Pat held full accountability revenue, profit and cost efficiency for the nation’s largest physician practice and care delivery business. 50% of this business carried insurance risk, placing it at the vanguard of payer and provider integration. He was also a key executive on UHG’s population health, digital health and behavioral health businesses.

Previously, Pat held roles as President, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Medical Officer at vRad, the post merger entity of publicly traded firms Virtual Radiologic and Nighthawk. During his tenure the firm grew earnings by >50%, revenue >25%, customer NPS >50 points and enterprise value by 5x. Through organic growth and acquisitions it grew into the nation’s largest provider of radiology and one of the nation’s largest care delivery organizations. Pat managed approximately 1,000 team-members to deliver high quality, timely and cost-effective care to approximately 9 million patients annually with more than 2,500 hospital, provider and health plan clients. He also served as President of one of the nation’s largest specialist physician groups with more than 500 full-time physicians and several hundred million dollars in revenue.

In addition to his executive leadership, Pat helped start Doctor On Demand (DoD) a transformative telehealth company which became the largest provider of primary care and behavioral health care video visits in the US. Pat supervised over 1000 clinicians and team members to expand access to affordable health care. Pat also served as President of one of the largest primary care groups in the nation. Under Pat’s leadership Doctor On Demand grew into a covered benefit for over 30 million Americans with over 700 employer, health plan, and hospital clients. Pat helped raise over $80 million from top Silicon Valley investors to grow enterprise valuation by 4x.

Pat took a leave from Stanford University to serve as a White House Fellow and Senior Advisor, where he held a Top Secret Clearance and served at highest levels of Federal government to help execute portions of the economic and health agenda. Since leaving Washington, Pat has delivered keynote addresses at over 100 corporations, universities, governments and professional societies. Pat has been frequently featured as an expert on CBS, Fox, NBC, WGN, NPR, and CNN. He has served as a consultant to multiple Fortune 500 firms and large hospital systems. Pat has advised five private equity firms as an operating adviser or board member. At Stanford, Dr. Basu also served as a Faculty Director of Health Policy and Finance. He has served as visiting faculty at 7 major universities. He is a recipient of the AMA National Excellence Award for Leadership, Stanford Consultant Physician of the Year Award, Chicago’s 40 under 40 and the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Pat continues to play a prominent leadership role in community and public service. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and White House Fellows Foundation. He is a member of key bilateral societies including U.S.-Italy Council, Atlantik-Breucke (US/Germany), USJLP (US/Japan) and Indiaspora (US/India). He served on State Board of Health in Illinois. He serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Illinois and Stanford Medical Alumni Associations. Pat has served as a lecturer at University of Chicago Booth School of business and Stanford School of Medicine.

Steven B. Gruber is a Managing Partner of Oak Hill Capital Partners, a multi-billion private equity firm, and has been a part of the firm since 1990. Mr. Gruber is Chairman of Oak Hill’s Investment Committee and serves on the boards of a number of companies in which the firm is an investor. While at Oak Hill, Mr. Gruber was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Insurance Partners, LP.

Prior to joining Oak Hill, He was a Managing Director and Co-Head of High Yield Securities at Lehman Brothers and a Managing Director of its merchant banking group, as well as a member of its Investment Committee.

Tim Danis is currently Chairman and CEO of Risk Consulting Partners LLC and a Senior Advisor to investment firms Rising Tide and Sheridan Legacy. He is also a Board Member of American Industrial Partners, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Inc., Ashion-Pmed and has served on many other corporate and civic boards including being the past Chairman of the Loyola University School of Business and Past Board Member Chief Executive Organization. He was the Founder and Chairman and Senior Managing Partner of RCP Advisors, LLC, a $5B investment management firm for which he was responsible for general management and strategic direction until 2012.

In addition, Mr. Danis was responsible for the institutional relationships of many buyout funds throughout the United States and was on the advisory boards of several buyout funds in which RCP invested. He has been involved in the private equity industry for over 25 years. For more than 10 years, Mr. Danis was an executive of the firm which is now called Willis and later served as Vice President and Assistant to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aon Corporation and was Vice Chairman of Aon Risk Services of the Americas. His responsibilities included directly overseeing a large portion of the United States operating businesses and serving on the boards of both Aon Risk Services of the Americas and Aon Risk Services Worldwide. He was a member of Young Presidents’ Organization.
